I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. WOO Pak-chuen, OBE, JP, and Mr. SZETO Wai, OBE, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be temporarily Unofficial Members of the Executive Council from 13th December 1971 until 31st December 1971, against the two vacancies brought about by the deaths of Mr. P. Y. TANG, CBE, JP, and Sir Cho-yiu KWAN, CBE, JP.

Mr. WOO's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HKK 1/3 dated 29th November 1971 expired on 18th November 1971 following the return to the Colony of Mr. KAN Yuet-keung, CBE, JP.

Mr. SZETO's previous appointment referred to in your despatch HKK 1/3 dated 3rd August 1971 expired on 2nd September 1971 following the return to the Colony of the late Sir Cho-yiu KWAN, CBE, JP.

Copies of the Instruments of Appointment and of the Gazette Notices promulgating the two appointments are attached.
