I think the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have been in touch with you about briefing me on problems and techniques of traffic control before I go to Hong Kong as Governor, and that you were kind enough to offer to help.
The time I can spend on this is regrettably limited, and I am also anxious not to waste the time of your Department. I wonder, therefore, if I might have a short chat with you about what the possibilities are. I will be in London for briefing from about mid-June, but I will also be there on 3 and 4 May, and I would very much like to see you briefly then so as to get some idea of how much time I should allow for this subject in making up the June programme.
Miss Tinman of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Overseas Territories Administration Unit is making up my programme for May 3 and 4 and I have asked her to get in touch with your Secre- tary and try and arrange a call, preferably on 3 May.
