1. May I first of all introduce myself as a future client of yours. I shall be leaving here on 2 May and going to Hong Kong as Governor in mid-November. In the interim Miss Turnbull tells me she will have nothing further to do with me and that I should bother only you. May I therefore start at once?
2. In the first place would you please ask the Secretary of the Athenaeum for a room for me for the nights of 2 and 3 Kay. If he cannot manage this please try again at The Travellers, failing that the Royal Commonwealth Society.
3. On Monday 3 May I should like appointments made for me with the following, all of whom I have written to today explaining what I want to see them about and that the FCO will get in touch about a time:-
