You wrote to me
on 17th December about
the possibility of a visit by HRH Princess Alexandra
Alexander to Hong Kong during 1970.

We have since been pursuing this matter
with the Royal Visits Committee who considered
it at their meeting on 18th February. We have
recently learnft that at that meeting the Committee
decided to re consider the question at a later
stage (probably in June). I should add that
when reaching this conclusion the Committee were
aware of Hong Kong's readiness to contribute
towards the cost of such a visit.
