HKK 26/1
CONFIDENTIAL
Hong Kong Department
16 March, 1970
You wrote to me on 17 December about the possibility of a visit by HRH Princess Alexandra to Hong Kong during 1970.
We have since been pursuing this matter with the Royal Visits Committee who considered it at their meeting on 18 February. We
have recently learnt that at that meeting the Committee decided to reconsider the question at a later stage (probably in June). I should add that when reaching this conclusion the Committee were aware of Hong Kong's readiness to contribute towards the
cost of such a visit.
I am sorry that we cannot let you have more information than
this at the moment, but we shall keep you informed of developments.
