The term of office of the present Governor of
Hong Kong, Sir David Trench, G.C.M.G., M.C., expires in
October 1971. Her Majesty the Queen has been pleased
to approve the appointment of Mr. C. M. MacLehose, C.N.G.,
M.B.E.

at present H.M. Ambassador in Copenhagen, as
his successor as Governor.
