IMMIGRATION AND VISA MATTERS
Points to be made (UK/Japan Visa Abolition Agreement)

Explain action taken in Tokyo (FED Brief on
reciprocal visa waiver with Japan).
2.
Ask if the Hong Kong uthorities have yet taken the subject up with the Japanese Consul-General in Hong Kong. If so, with what result ? (Para. 3)
3. Are Hong Kong able to satisfy the Japanese authorities on security aspects? (Para. 4)
4. Would Hong Kong consider giving guarantee to meeting
cost of repatriating Hong Kong residents deported from Japan. (Para. 8)
If asked about German visa requirements for Hong Kong
