THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
Purpose
Housing for families of moderate means ($400-8900 a month
and up to $1,250 a month for higher rental flats), living in
overcrowded and sub-standard accommodation.
Responsibility
Built and managed by the Housing Authority.
This statutory
body is constituted ex officio by the members of the Hung Kong
- Urban Council plus one nominated unofficial and the Commissioner
for Housing.
Allocation
Applicants for this type of housing and also Government
low cost housing are invited to register on a combined waiting
list and accommodation is offered as and when vacancies arise.
Finance
Hong Kong Government Development Loan Fund, plus self-
generated funds from rental income.
