Secretary of State's Visit

I thought it might be a good idea if we wrote to you about the administrative arrangements for the Secretary of State's forthcoming visit, both to give you such information as we know and to ask you the answers to various questions. I will de al with the different points under appropriate headings.

2.

Composition of the Party

The composition of the party as at present known will consist of:

Travel

You will by now already have had a telegram saying that the party intend to travel out to Hong Kong by BA 920 on the 17 April, and to leave there for Tokyo on the 20 April by JLO 62. They

will all, except Mr. J. Murray, leave Tokyo for London on 23 April by BA 851, departing Tokyo at 22.15 hours. James Murray, I gather, may be staying on for a day or two, but will be writing separately about these arrangements.

4. Living and Office Accommodation

Could you let me know what arrangements you propose for living and office accommodation? The arrangements you made on the previous visit of the Secretary of State were very satisfactory,
