to make a statement and to answer questions briefly. On the other hand it is not necessary to try to organise a full press conference. The right course I think is not to discourage any of the press who show any inclination to be at the airport and to make arrangements for those who do turn up, without actively stimulating such interest. At departure however it would be right to try to mount a proper conference for about 30 minutes at the airport if that fits in with local custom.
