Visit of the Secretary of State to
Hong Kong
When you have time you may wish to look through the briefs prepared for this visit. I attach the Secretary of State's copies.
2. Mr. Graham told me over the telephone that he thought the visit went very well. The whole party were very pleased with the way in which they were looked after by the Hong Kong Government.
3. Apart from that, the only account I have had of any aspect of the visit is contained in the attached record of the two meetings. We are, of course, looking into the question of follow-up action, in particular, what should be done to deal with the points that came out during the discussion with the Unofficial Members of the two Councils about passports, and also the point raised by Mr. CHUNG referred to in paragraph 7 of the record of the second meeting.
4.
I propose to ask Miss Booker how the press conference went. I shall let you know what she says.
