Visits within the competence of Far Eastern Department
are as follows:-
(a)
Secretary of State to Hong Kong and Japan
The Secretary of State is to represent The Queen at the
British day (22 April) at Expo '70. Formal confirmation
was sent to the Japanese Ambassador on 12 February.
While in Japan, Mr. Stewart will hold talks with the
Japanese Foreign Minister within the framework of the
regular Anglo-Japanese consultations.
We are aiming at simultaneous announcement in Tokyo and
London on Tuesday, 17 February.
The provisional itinerary is as follows, subject to
uncertainties about flight schedules:-
