Outward Visits
Mr. Ivor Richard, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State
for the Ministry of Defence Army Department, is to visit the
Far East between 25 May and 7 June. His programme has been
arranged through the Service Aphorities in Singapore and Hong
Kong. He will be companied by a Private Secretary and his
Military Assistant.The High Commissioners in Singapore and
Kuala Lumpur and the Governor of Hong Kong have been consulted
and have no objection to the visit. He plans to arrive in
Singapore on 26 May and will be visiting units in Singapore and
Malaysia from 27 May until 1 June, returhing each evening to Singapore where he will be staying with General Hunt at HQ Far
East Land Forces. He will be in Hong Kong from 1 to 5 June,
will stopover in Bangkok on the night of 5 June and fly back
to the UK from Singapore by RAF flight on 6 June.

I recommended last month that a senior Minister should
visit Australia and New Zealand (elections permitting) once
