5. The Prime Minister has expressed the wish to pay a day's
visit to Malaysia on his way out to the Commonwealth
Conference opening in Singapore on 14 January 1971.
6. The Committee may wish to note that Mr George Thomson,
MP, will be visiting Singapore and Hong Kong on his way to
Canberra for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association
meeting. He will be in Singapore from 13 to 15 September
He will not be a member of the United Kingdom Delegation to
the CPA but he is a member of the Executive Committee of the
General Council of the CPA and hw will be going in that
capacity. Ministry of Defence have been making arrangements
for Mr Thomson to visit our forces and our High Commission
in Singapore hope to arrange for him to meet a Singapore
Government Minister.

invited his Australian colleague, Mr Fraser, to visit London

Brunei
8. The Sultan of Brunei is at present visiting this country.
He arrived on 1 September and is due to leave on 11 September.
The principal purpose of his visit is to see the Royal Brunei/
Malay Regiment take part in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo but
he will have seen Mr Royle on 9 September.
