I informed Miss Garrod on 8 September that there was no
Foreign and Commonwealth Office objection to Mr. Peter Kirk's
proposed visit to Bahrain, and the Far East (as proposed
in Kr. Jeffs' letter of 13 August to Mr. Simcock at No. 10)
but that we were still awaiting a reply from Singapore.
Me agreed that in view of the time factor, you would inform
Kr. Jelis or Foreign and Commonwealth Office approval by
telephone and confirm by letter when a reply from Singapore
