The political situation in Hong Kong
is quiet and stable. There is no reason to
anticipate any change in the current situation
and the general view in Hong Kong Government
circles and of most knowledgeable resident
Europeans is that the political risk is less
than in almost any South East Asian country.
The lease of the New Territories has another
26 years to run and, from the Consultants'
Report, the cost of the project would be
amortised before then.
