CURRENTS INDICATED ARE THE STRONGEST THAT WERE RECORDED
NEAR THE SEA BED. SIMILAR CURRENTS WERE RECORDED AT HALF
DEPTH AND NEAR THE SEA SURFACE.
DIRECTIONS SHOWN DOTTED AT C9 AND CII, FOR TECHNICAL REASONS, HAD TO BE RECORDED AT THE SURFACE.
LENGTHS OF DIRECTION LINES ARE PROPORTIONAL TO CURRENT SPEEDS.
OWING TO THE SMALL VELOCITIES RECORDED, THERE WERE CONSIDERABLE VARIATIONS IN DIRECTION DURING BOTH EBB AND FLOOD. THE DIRECTIONS SHOWN ARE THOSE RECORDED AT THE TIME
OF MAXIMUM VELOCITY.
