In order to give the maximum clear area of land for the Contrainer Terminal, re-alignment of the proposed railway so that it would come as close as possible to Kwai Chung Road and re-siting of For Kong Station has been recommended. This layout is shown on Drawing 3.
Timing of the construction of the railway is uncertain and the siting and layout of the Maintenance Depot is to be reconsidered which may affect the branch line through the Container Terminal area.
