(2) For the purpose of preventing any such person from
landing from the ship or aircraft, the master of the ship or
commander of the aircraft may detain that person in custody
on board the ship or aircraft.
Detention of
person
arrested
under
s.50(3).
27.
A person who is arrested under subsection (3) of
section 50 may be detained for the purpose of inquiries for
not more than forty-eight hours and may also be detained
until the Governor in Council has decided whether or not to
rescind the suspension of the deportation order made in
respect of that person.
General provisions as to detained
persons.
28.
(1) Persons required or authorized to be detained
by or under this Ordinance may be detained in such places as
the Governor may by order direct; and the Governor may by
order provide for the treatment of persons so detained.
(2) Without prejudice to any other Ordinance
(a) any person detained by virtue of this Ordinance; and
(b) any person who, being detained in pursuance of
the sentence or order of a court, would otherwise
be liable to be detained by virtue of this
Ordinance,
may be taken in the custody of an immigration officer or
police officer to and from any place where his attendance is
required for any purpose of this Ordinance.
(3) Any person required or authorized to be detained by
or under this Ordinance may be arrested without warrant by an
immigration officer or police officer; and any person who is
