landing condition shall be deemed to be given to such

immigrant if it is given in writing to the person in charge

of the party.

(4) (a) The Director may at any time by notice in

writing to an immigrant

(i) cancel or vary any landing condition in force

in respect of that immigrant;

(ii) impose any landing condition in respect of

that immigrant;

and the Governor may by order applying to all immigrants or

to any class or description of immigrants

(iii) cancel or vary any landing condition in

force in respect of such immigrants;

(iv) impose any landing condition in respect of

such immigrants.

(b) Nothing in this subsection authorizes the imposition

of a landing condition limiting the period during

which an immigrant may remain in Hong Kong.

(5) Whenever a landing condition is in force in respect

of any immigrant, the Director may

(a) require that immigrant; or
