Mr. Wilford
Sir L. Monson
Rehousing of Squatters in Hong Kong
Mr. Royle asked at yesterday's meeting of Heads of Department that a telegram be sent to Hong Kong about the further report of the Housing Board on the problem of squatters. It was agreed to aim at a report (even of an interim nature) within two months. The two months will not
in fact be up until the middle of December. I have, there-
fore, used the forthcoming debate in the Lords as the reason
why we want the report at the end of this month. A draft telegram is attached.
