The meeting will discuss two papers:
a)
MISC.260(70)1

Memorandum by the Minister
of Overseas Development on Pensions Policy.
b) MISC.260(70)2 Memorandum by Arabian
Department of the F.C.O. on Southern Yemeni
Pensions.
Arabian Department will be represented at the
meeting and will take the lead on the second item.
Recommendation
3. We should support O.D.M. in general but there
are certain respects in which we want to see the
proposals extended.
Notes on issues of concern to the F.C.O.
4. a) General
The present position is that virtually all
pensions, of both expatriate and local
personnel, whether earned prior to or after
independence, are the responsibility of the
overseas government. The C.D.M. paper proposes
independent connives
