You will recall that during my visit to Hong Kong in October I spoke to you about the copyright problem. At the same time I handed you a copy of a letter dated 2 October, 1970, together with a draft undertaking, which had been sent to me by R.F,G, Dennis, a Director of Rediffusion International Ltd.
At first sight you said that you thought that the proposal embodied in the undertaking might well be helpful and without committing yourself in any way you agreed to have a look at it and send us further word. Subsequently Michael Laird wrote on 5 November (HIK 16/2) to Ronnie Holmes about this. It would be most helpful to us here if you could let us know how the matter now stands. Rediffusion wish to make
a call on one of our Ministers, but there would be no point in this until we have a reaction from you to the proposal Dennis put to me.
