our doubts whether it is right to have such a post at

all.

3. We should therefore like your views on the

question of abolishing the post of S.P.J. and replacing it by an additional post of Puisne Judge, so that we

may consider them in the context of your proposals

for a new post of Appeal Judge. That being so, we do

not propose to take any action on your recommendations

for further appointments to the Supreme Court until

the question of abolishing the post of S.P.J. and

creating a new post of Appeal Judge has been gone

into.
