Dear Bunny 20/1/90

13 January, 1970.

Thank you for your letter HKK 10/1 of

30th December and the information that it contains about the future supply of Hunter spares and personnel after 1975.

I think that it is now clear that taking into account the capital and running costs and the problems of financing them, and also the really rather uncertain future on spares in an increasingly competitive situation, I must now formally signify that as far as we are concerned the Hunter proposals are dead. We must reluctantly accept that the only practical proposal now remaining is the provision of regular visits by R.A.F. combat aircraft, and hope that as favourable an outcome as possible can be obtained on this.

Yours ever

David.
