Negotiations with Australia and New Zealand on the command
structure will however have to take into account these factors,
together with such possibilities as political agreement by HMG
to the retention of the UK elements in the Brigade Headquarters, ccmmunication and integrated logistic units in the event that the Australian and New Zealand Battalions, but not the UK Battalion,
were committed to a SEATO plan.

Recommendation

We recommend that, if they approve our report, the Chiefs of Staff should forward it to the Secretary of State for his approval to its use as a basis for negotiation with the Australian and
New Zealand Authorities.
