sultations with Hong Kong: 25 November. Informal dis- cussion on a U.S. Trade Bill

b) U.S./Japanese textile talks

The note of this meeting was, for convenience, taken. by TPD, in attendance for the discussion on the U.S. Trade Bill. In the event, no new proposals worthy of record transpired on the U.S. Trade Bill, as you will see from the attached very summary record, which has been delayed, unfortunately, for the reasons set out in the letter to Miss Welch, also attached.

2. We assume that the draft on textiles called for by the meeting will originate from the DTI, and in order not to delay the matter further, we have ventured to draft a covering letter, which, if you see no objection, might be addressed to DTI with a copy of the record ?
