Third Session (Statistical Sub-Committee)
3 p.m.. Tuesday, 28th April, 1970
62.
Having examined the figures on all relevant cotton items, the Sub-Committee proceeded to discuss statistics relating to non- cotton items.
Sweaters, pullovers, jumpers, slipovers and
cardigans, knitted or crocheted, wholly or mainly of wool (including lambs' wool), men's and boys' (ex 841.462) and women's and girls' ex 841.465) wear
63.
Referring to the figures in the statistical table provided by the Swedish delegation on non-cotton garments, Group 1 • item 1 (sweaters, pullovers etc. of wool), Mr. Strandberg pointed out that Swedish production for these items had decreased by 25% in 1969. Even though imports from Hong Kong registered a decline, the quantity still accounted for 50% of total imports five times the Swedish production figure.
