Mr. Ho then stated that apart from thanking the Swedish Government for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements for the consultations and Baron de Geer for the manner in which he had conducted the negotiations, there was one matter he had to refer to. This was the unsatisfactory position of the restraint on woven shirts of synthetic fibres (in a combined level with blouses and nightgarments) where there was really no evidence of injury. He stated that Hong Kong had been able to agree to an arrangement on this item only in the hope that the position would be clarified within the next 12 months by the publication of the Swedish Royal Commission Report on the textiles industry. He asked that these final remarks be placed on record.

After briefly at 4 p.m. on 2 June 1970 to initial the documents. various alterations and corrections, the papers. copies of which are at Enclosures 2, 3 and 4. were eventually initialled at 5.30 p.m.
