From the Hong Kong Chinese Servants Association. Congratulations
on the passage of your Equal Pay Bill. Hong Kong Government
nurses and teachers continue to be victimized by a policy of
unequal pay for equal work and the differentiation between married
and single women. The continuation of such a policy is demora-
lizing and causing massive discontent with the professions.
Nurses and teachers have completely lost faith in Government's
intention to honour its promise to implement equal pay.
Bitter disappointment is felt in the failure of constituati-
onal approaches on these matters. That's why we have recently
submitted an appeal to her Majesty the Queen. We now beseech
you to help in your official capacity.
