Clause 13 adds a new section 17A, which will empower the Registrar of Trade Union to apply to the court for an injunction restraining ineligible persons from becoming officers and members of a trade union:

Clause 14 adds a new section 20A, which would require every trade union to have a seal; this provision will facilitate the acquisition and transfer of union property.

Clause 15 amonds section 21(1) by requiring unions to notify the Registrar in writing of branches and various union undertakings.

Clause 16(b) which amends section 23, makes it an offence not to comply with subsection (2), which deals with applications for registration of a change in a union's name.

Clause 18 amends section 30(1) so as to allow only voting members of a union to vote for an amalgamation.

Clause 19 makes a number of amendments to section 33. Firstly "clerks" is substituted for "employees", in consequence of the changes to the interpretation section. Secondly the funds of a union may be used for the payment of fines imposed on it. Thirdly the Governor is made the approving authority for the purposes of paragraphs (j) and (1), instead of the Governor in Council.

Clause 23 amonds section 46 so as to exclude the right to picket a person's private residence which has nothing to do with his business.

Clause 24 amends section 47 by adding a new paragraph (f) which makes it an offence under the section to block or to cause an obstruction in any street or road.

Clause 26 amends section 63 by providing that a notice of cancellation under section 11 shall be deemed to have been servod on the union if the Registrar has, in addition to serving the notice, published the notice in the Gazette.

Clause 29 adds to the Schedule a new rule relating to the safe custody and use of the seal of a union.

20.

Clauses 20, 21, 22, 25 and 28 effect a number of minor

amendments.
