I explained in the answer I gave to my
honourable Friend the Member for Farnworth on
2 March that lier Majesty's Government were
satisfied that some night work "nder strictly
controlled conditions could be accepted.
Of the twelve applic..tions received since March
1st, when the scheme which I then described came
into operation, two have been granted and these
224 govor 224 adult women in cotton spinning and
weaving factories.
