conditions on individual factories to ensure that material condition,
including lighting, ventilation, and cleanliness, are up to satisfactory
standards.
Night work for women is permitted, in various circumstances,
in the U.S.A., Canada, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore,
Malaysia, and many other countries.
It was recently authorized in the United Kingdom in two large
motor plants to relieve a labour shortage following agreeement that
women should be paid the same rates as men if they worked at night.
In Hong Kong, it is a general practice to make no distinction
between the piece rates paid to male and female workers employed during
the day.

Arriving Ja Saturday On Four-Day Stopover
Two Members of Parliament, Mr Patrick Jenkin, Conservative
Member for Wanstead and Woodford, and Mr. Eric Moorman, Labour Member
Wanst

for Billericay, are arriving this Saturday for a four-day stopover on
their return to Britain at the end of a visit to Japan.
During their stay, they will call on the Governor, and members
of the executive, legislative and urban councils.
