I refer to your minute dated 21 July with enclosure
and would thank you for sending on the two files (No. K5/29) contain-
ing the Financial Secretary's last budget speech and the current
budget estimates.

During our discussion this morning you confirmed that
we could take more time to comment on the questions raised by
Mr. Maddocks. I explained that this fascinating set of questions
will be of particular interest to Mr. Wright and that we would like
to defer our comments until after he returns from leave at the end
of this week.
