Many thanks for your letter of 12 August
about Haddon-Cave.
I confirm that F.C.O. Saving Despatch No. 284
was sent as a result of the agreement recorded in
our exchange of letters last January/February.
However, since you are not suggesting that the
matter should be reconsidered there will be no
difficulty here in delaying until November the
announcement that Haddon-Cave is to succeed John
Cowperthwaite as Financial Secretary in April,
1971.
