Thank you for your letter of 10 July 1970 enclosing a copy of your letter to Sir David Trench setting out the provisional timetable for Haddon-Cave's visit.
2.
Although we have not yet heard from Hong Kong whether or not our proposals are acceptable, I suggest that since time is now getting short we should proceed on the assumption that Haddon-Cave is content. I would therefore be grateful if you, Collier (CSD) and Brown (Board of Trade), to whom I am copying this letter, would let me know the details of your respective programmes as soon as possible.
3. You should know that we are attempting to arrange a visit to the CSO during the week beginning Monday 23 November and it might be quite a good idea if Haddon-Cave made a short farewell visit to the FCO and Treasury on completion of his time with CSO.
Your suiverely
Richard Steel.
