9. The interview ended with an exchange in the course of
which it was established that the Chinese Office would tele-
phone Far Eastern Department in the first instance about the rebuilding, but that subsequently they would probably get in touch directly with Protocol and Conference Department who were the department most directly concerned on the British
side.
