Conclusions

(a) My visit was well worth while particularly to Peking

and I recommend that in about six months, and particularly

if we have made any progress on outstanding isouca in the

meantime, another visit to Peking by a senior official

would be well worth while.

(b) We must make an effort to broaden our contacts with the

Chinese mission in London.

(c) We must continue to look very closely at the question

of confrontation prisoners in Hong Kong to see if there is

any reasonable way of improving the trickle of relcases.

(a) we must try to extract the names of the Parliamentary

delegation destined to go to Mongolia as soon as possible

and see that they are well prepared for their ordeal.
