Amongst the subjects.covered by these discussions were
housing, education and local government as well as a number
of other matters of general interest.
Housing
2. The achievements of Hong Kong in the sphere of housing
are second to mine. he Hong Kong Government nevertheless fully realise that problems, such as the rehousing of remaining
squatters, still remain and they have no intention of relaxing
their efforts in this sphere.
Education
3.(a) Free Primary Education
The Governor recently announced that the Hong Kong
Government were considering the early abolition of fees
in government and aided primary schools.
(b) Compulsory Primary Education
The Government of Hong Kong are examining the possibility
of introducing a me
