It has been the practice for the British delegation to be provided with briefs on dependent territories which are represented at these Conferences.

In 1971, Hong Kong will be represented by Mr. J. Canning, Director of Education.

It would be appreciated if you would prepare a short note on the territory. If COI factsheets are available, the note might supplement such material. The information provided, should, where possible include some statistics of population, revenue, school enrolment etc. Also any information for the British delegates about political, economic, social etc. conditions which would be useful in their dealings with their overseas colleagues in the British delegation. If there are any special points that should be noted, no doubt you will record these.

3. Any biographical details relating to the Director of Education would also be welcome, if available.
