You telephoned yesterday about FC0's letter of 16 May to your Department (and especially the references in paragraph & to our rough assessment of the British export content of the project) and asked for any further information we could provide urgently about the sort of goods involved in this British content.
This letter is merely to confirm, for the record and for the information of PCO (#. S. Carter, with whom I also spoke yesterday), the following information which I telephoned to you last evening on the advice of our technical colleagues. They explained that it is the best they can supply in the limited time available about the type of item they would expect to be included in the British content, vis:

Contractors planta and spares including earth-moving equipment (this is a large item). Airfield lighting units including approach lighting with associated transformers, standby power supply and cabling, including underwater sable and deep water gantries for approach lighting. Cement and steel reinforcing bars. (As regards the contractors plant and spares, we understand that these costly items are normally not brought back at the end of the contract but substantially worn out on the job and either written off or disposed of locally at a knock-down prios).
Apron and Taxiway. Taxiway lighting, oecent and steel as above.
Apron floodlighting and guidance systems. Hydrant refuelling system. Specialised apron handling equipment. (Crash, Fire and Rescue equipment vehicles and boats will also be required although not part of the C.E. Contract),
(a) Terminal Building. Airbridges. 'Tote' boards for aireraft
movements. Communications systems including closed oircuit T. Iscalator and lifts. Baggage handling carousela and conveyors. Air conditioning, lighting fittings and window frames.
(a) Carro Terminal, Specialised steelwork such as folding doors,
overhead powered gantries, and conveyors.
Partial
