about the extent to which, in the event of a take-wer of Hong Kong, they would try to pursue the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank in respect of its assets outside Hong Kong some of which surely belong to the Bank in its capacity as a "Hong Kong entity"? The sooner therefore we can get something more explicit to the Governor on this question of what ECGD would expect the Bank's guarantee to comprise, the better; and I should begrateful if you would keep pressing ECGD on this.
