French banks are now in- terested in financing the £20 million harbour tunnel project to link Victoria and Kowloon, Hong- kong. A French banker con- firmed yesterday that the Banque Nationale de Paris will be one of the consortium provided the French Government approves.
The manager in Hongkong of the Societe d'Enterprises de Dragages et de Travaux Public, which has played a major part in constructing Hongkong's two largest reservoirs, said his com- pany would also help with the tunnel.
Surveys have already been com- pleted by British engineering con- sultants, but the project has been held up for almost two years for lack of money from British in- vestors,
