Suggested revised text of circular saving

The Government of Hong Kong has decided

to introduce measures for the stricter control of

British subjects and Commonwealth citizens in-

cluding those from dependent territories entering

Hong Kong. Such persons (with the exception of

those listed in paragraph 2, who have been exempted)

will in future be required to hold visas, unless

they are tourists or short-term visitors (see

paragraph 3). The following instructions will

therefore apply from 8th September, 1969. The

"Summary of Visa Regulations" will be amended as

soon as possible.

The following categories will be exempted

from compliance with the new regulations:-

(i)

holders of British passports issued in

Hong Kong;
