the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man)
such passports are
provided that the document is not endorsed to the effect that issue he
seve has been made on
other than behalf of some other territory (except Hong
Kong); and
persons born, naturalised, or registered as British subjects in Hong Kong, or the United Kingdom, provided they have not
renounced their British nationality.
Tourists and short-term visitors will be
allowed to enter the Colony without visas for visits
that
of up to three months provided/normal immigration requirements are met, i. e. possession of valid passport, onward or return tickets, no adverse
record, adequate funds, etc. Applications for extensions of stay will be considered on their merits, but will be granted fairly liberally.

Applications for visas to enter Hong Kong for employment, residence, study, etc., must be referred to the Director of Immigration, Hong Kong. for his decision (but see paragraph 5). Such applications should, if possible, quote the name of
a person or company in Hong Kong to whom reference
can be made..

The Director of Immigration has delegated authority to visa posts abroad to issue visas, without reference, to British and Commonwealth immigrants who do not qualify for visa exemption under the terms of paragraph 2 above, but who are in the following
