EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Rules.)
These Rules are made under section 1 of the Indian and Colonial Divorce Jurisdiction Act 1926, as amended by the Indian and Colonial Divorce Jurisdiction Act 1940 and the Colonial and Other Territories (Divorce Juris- diction) Act 1950. That section has been applied to Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Divorce Jurisdiction Order in Council 1935 as amended by the Hong Kong Divorce Jurisdiction (Amendment) Order 1969. The Rules make provision for the manner in which proceedings shall be conducted before the Supreme Court of Hong Kong in the exercise of divorce juris- diction in certain cases where the parties are domiciled in the United King- dom, and also revoke the Hong Kong (Non-Domiciled Parties) Divorce Rules 1936.
