Between 16 October and 9 November 1 paid "familiarization" visits to Hong Kong, Fiji, the New Hebrides and the Solomon Islands. I broke my homeward journey for one day visits to Canberra and New Delhi for talks with our High Comisioners and appropriate officials in the Australian and Indian Governments.
2.
I reported in detail by telegram on my constitutional talks in Fiji and shall be pursuing separately with the Department points of detail arising out of my tour.
3. I attach however a report on my tour confined to general matters of policy as 1 found them.
