Appointment of Chief Justice, Hong Kong
The Secretary of State has agreed to submit for Her
Majesty's approval the name of Sir Ivo Charles Clayton
Rigby for appointment as Chief Justice, Hong Kong in
succession to Sir Michael Hogan subject to the formal
agreement of Sir Ivo Rigby himself to his name being so
submitted.
2. The Governor has now confirmed that Sir Ivo Rigby
would be willing to accept the appointment.
3. I recommend that the Secretary of State submits the
name of Sir Ivo Rigby accordingly. A draft submission is
attached.
4.
Sir Michael Hogan leaves Hong Kong on retirement
leave on 31 December.
