You last saw this file at (22) when you gave us some advice, among other matters, on the pension arrangements which might be necessary if members of the local bar were appointed to the Supreme Court Bench in Hong Kong.

Matters have now reached the stage of Mr. Wilford's letter of 19 September to the Governor and with reference to the final paragraph of that letter we should be grateful if you would now set in train the further researches which will be necessary about pension arrangements.
