Dear Pine Minister

HOUSE OF COMMONS

LONDON, SWI

3rd February, 1969.

?

12/E,

Thank you for your letter of 7th January about my proposal, made last April, to ask Her Majesty The Queen to honour the Ilong Kong Police by designating them the Royal Hong Kong Police.

The Governor of the Colony has, so far as I know, been back in Hong Kong now for some months, so that adequate time has elapsed for the other related matters you mention to be considered.

I do feel that by now a decision should have been reached, particularly as you told me in your letter of 6th May, 1968 that a new name for the Hong Kong Police was already being considered in consultation with the Governor.

I therefore intend to table a Question on this matter on or after 28th February, 1969.

Yours since

amly Lynch maydon
